Diamond Supply Co. Marquise

Diamond Supply Co. has done a couple footwear collaborations, but this time Nick Diamonds took full control and let his own design skills shine. Yesterday was the first drop of the full Fall 2011 Footwear collection from Diamond. The collection consisted of five models ranging from low-cuts with vulcanized soles to more intricate designs with cup soles.

I headed out to Fairfax to get a pair and came back with the Marquise model. Right off the bat you can see the Jordan III inspiration, which makes sense since Nick is such a big sneakerhead. There is a nice mix of suede and leather that reminds me a lot of the way Jordan Brand did the Flip IIIs. The shoe is covered with Diamond details from the tongue to under the insole, which is similar to the Lunarlon insole of the Nike SB Koston 1.

I think Diamond Supply Co. is off to a good start with their footwear line and I am excited to see it grow over the next couple of years. I’m pretty satisfied with my pair and content with the $120 pricetag. The collection is now available online and at the flagship store on Fairfax, and presumably soon at other retailers that carry Diamond.
